Sometimes being grumpy can be one of the most
annoying part of one’s life. There are various reasons which make us moody and
grumpy. I too go through these moods especially when I don’t get my beauty
sleep or when I am under the weather or when someone gets on my nerves.
Firstly not getting good sleep can really put ones mood off and
make one feel drowsy. There was one such time when my favourite movie was
airing on T.V. It was a school night and the movie was scheduled to start at
8:00pm. My mother agreed to let me watch the movie for an hour. Assuming that
was enough time, I agreed to the deal. I don’t even know when the hour passed
when it did because it passed by like minutes. As the clock struck nine my
mother called out “switch off the T.V Mridula its time for bed”. ”5 mins mom
it’s the best part” I said. The 5 mins turned into half an hour and the half an
hour turned into an hour and finally the movie ended. I yawned as I dragged
myself up to bed and drifted off to sleep. The next morning my mom came to my
room to wake me up. 2Mridula, Mridula” she whispered in my ear as she shook me,
“huh” I said in a sleepy voice. “You have school now, come on time to get up”
my mom exclaimed.”Uh, 5mins please” I said pulling the sheets over
me.”No” my mom said pulling the sheets if me “chop, chop it’s time to go “my
mom added. “Okay “I said as I dragged myself to the bathroom. Through most of
the day in school I was super sleepy. I did not want to play anything; I just
wanted to curl up in a corner and sleep. That day I learnt that I have to sleep
on school nights or else I will be as grumpy as I was that day.
Secondly, being sick can also put one in a bad mood. There was one
such time when I and my family went out to eat chat and some evening “chat” and
some evening snacks. Since chat was one of my favourite snacks I went all out,
I had “pani puri” dahi puri and Bhel puri.”Go easy, you have school tomorrow”
my mother warned me. “Okay, Okay” I said munching away. As I was licking my
fingers it was time for us to leave. As we pulled into the parking lot, my
stomach started aching terribly. I could not take it any food, it was a real
pain. I clutched my stomach in pain and yelled “GO AWAY YOU SILLY STOMOCH
ACHE”. “I told you to go easy” my mom scolded. “Uh, sorry” I whined. From that
day on I learnt that I should cut down on the amount of chat I eat else I will
be as grumpy and sick as I was then.
My final reason is that when someone annoys you it can really
put your mood off. There was one such time when I and my younger brother were
playing a game of throw and catch. While playing, I by mistake threw the ball
on his head. Being the 6 year old that he was, the first thing that came to his
mind was to hit me. He raced up to me and started hitting me. I tried to cool
him down but he did not listen. After a while I could not take it anymore. I
screamed. My mom came racing in “what happened “ she said, panting. “Adithya is
hitting me” I said in a annoyed voice. My mom shook her head and pulled my
brother off me. She made us both sit down and asked us what happened. After we
narrated the story to her she told us to calm down. I did, but during the incident
I was super angry.
So
as you can see, many situations can put a person in a bad mood. Here you saw
the negative effects of being grumpy but it has its positive side to.
To
conclude all I want to say is that sometimes being in a bad mood is like the
rain. Sometimes it pours on you and sometimes it drizzles on you. But at the
end it always calms down and that is what is important. After all “ all’s well
ends well”.
